Biography

David Ardia is an IVADO associate professor in the department of decision sciences at HEC Montréal. David is trained in quantitative methods for finance, with a keen interest in asset allocation, risk management, and text-mining. In 2018, he got elected “Swiss risk manager of the year” by the Swiss Risk Association and was the recipient of the Henri Vloebergh’s chair at Vrjie Universiteit Brussel for his contributions to the open-source community. He is a founding member of the Sentometrics organization.

Before coming to HEC, David was an assistant professor in finance at Laval University and the University of Neuchâtel. He also spent four years in the financial industry. David holds an M.Sc. in applied mathematics, a MAS in quantitative finance, and a Ph.D. in financial econometrics.
