Artificial intelligence and omics data in the fight against cancer: Génome Québec, Oncopole and IVADO launch a new competition

Montréal, September 30th, 2019 – Génome Québec, Oncopole and IVADO have joined forces to launch the Omics Data Against Cancer Competition (ODAC). Funding consideration is open to Québec researchers.The detailed guidelines and application forms will be available in December 2019 on the Génome Québec Website (under Ongoing competitions).

This competition will finance cancer-related research that leverages omics data using artificial intelligence. Projects submitted for funding must produce concrete deliverables with the potential to improve patient well-being.

Each of the partners is contributing $500K to the competition, for an overall investment of $1.5M. The budget per project is set at $200K to $300K for a period of 2 years.

Génome Québec will oversee the application process, which will include the submission of a letter of intent, the submission of a complete application and a review of the application by the Fonds de recherche du Québec.

Complete applications must be submitted by March 2020.
