Introducing two new online courses to hone your digital intelligence knowledge and skills
Every day, we generate massive quantities of data. Certain digital intelligence approaches and tools provide us with the opportunity to transform those data into concrete benefits and economic gains for all industry segments.
Our objective is to support and guide you through this learning process and promote access to knowledge by as many people as possible—something that’s all the more important given the unique situation we’re all living through now. With that in mind, we are continuing our training activities virtually, including via massive open online courses (MOOCs).
Starting today, you’re invited to explore two innovative new topics, in the (virtual) company of specialists in the field.
“We can’t simply trust that our AI tools will make fair decisions for us because we’ll have eliminated things that may be unfair while training the algorithms: that’s head-in-the-sand thinking. We need to properly understand AI and be able to certify which aspects of it are fair,” explains François Laviolette, Director of the Big Data Research Centre and a professor in the Université Laval Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering.
“Deep learning is a vital asset for driving innovation in the 21st century! This course is unique in its broad spectrum, from machine learning basics to transformers, with technological ethics: it’s a perfect opportunity to acquire knowledge in the field,” says Gaétan Marceau Caron, Applied Research Scientist, Mila.
These new MOOCs are the result of close collaboration between IVADO, Mila and Université de Montréal. After more than six months of work, our team is pleased to provide these two courses free of charge. You can learn at your own pace, thanks to the online format. Fees are applicable only if you wish to receive a certificate following course completion.
“In the current situation, we’re having to slow things down,” notes Nathalie Sanon, Head, IVADO Training Program. “This can be an opportunity to gain new knowledge in these innovative fields that pique our curiosity, fire our imagination and raise a multitude of questions, including ethical ones. Are you ready to explore potential solutions to the issues we are all facing right now?”
