SUMMARY:NLP Montreal 2019 Workshop (Mila\, RALI\, IVADO\, CRM)
DESCRIPTION:Description\n\n\n\nNLP Montreal 2019 is a workshop on natural language processing (NLP) and understanding\, with the aim to facilitate interactions between our partners\, students and faculty members. The intended audience is individuals who are already familiar with the subject of natural language processing. \nOrganizers: Alain Tapp\, Will Hamilton and Gabriel Prato \nScientific program: Will Hamilton\, Jackie Cheung\, Philippe Langlais and Alain Tapp \n*Members of the scientific committee are still accepting proposals for short seminar-style talks (contact: prato.gab@gmail.com). Students are especially encouraged to submit proposals\, and note that ensuring diversity in both speakers and topics is an important objective for the final program.* \n**Note that the second afternoon is reserved for Alliance research group discussions and restricted to partners and faculties.** \n***First come\, first served. Only applications from Mila/IVADO/RALI/CRM partners\, students and researchers will be accepted. Participants must be individuals actively involved in NLP research and/or development and priority to individuals committed to the Alliance NSERC NLP project will be granted.*** \n\nPROGRAM (tentative) \n\n\nSeptember 17\n\n\n\n8h30- 9h00\n\nRegistration\n\n\n9h00 – 12h15\n\nAdvanced tutorial (1 hour)\nStudent talks (6 times 20 minutes)\n\n\n13h30 to 16h00\n\nFaculty (2 times 50 minutes and 4 times 25 minutes)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeptember 18\n\n\n\n9h00 – 12h30\n\nAlliance public talk by Prof. Alain Tapp (25 minutes)\nPublic industrial talks from any participants ( 7 times 25 minutes)\n\n\n13h45 – 15h45\n\nAlliance grant proposal specific meetings\nAlliance partner and administration private meeting\n6 working groups will have discussions in parallel (one for each theme)\nSome partners will be given time to address the participants
