Canada Excellence Research Chair in Data Science for Real-Time Decision-Making

The Canada Excellence Research Chair in Data Science for Real-Time Decision-Making is Canada’s leading chair in operations research. It aims to create new models and algorithms to quickly and efficiently manage large amounts of data from multiple sources in order to generate transferrable knowledge and automate decision making.

Inter-university research centre on enterprise networks, logistics and transportation

The CIRRELT is an interdisciplinary research centre dedicated to resolving decision-related issues linked to the design, management, operations and safety of logistics networks, services and infrastructures. It brings together researchers specialized in operations research, computer sciences, engineering, statistics and econometrics on projects in areas including transportation, energy, finance, health and communications.

Group for Research in Decision Analysis

The GERAD is an interuniversity research centre that brings together some ninety experts in quantitative methods for management, operations research, theoretical computer science, mathematics and mathematical engineering at HEC Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal, McGill University and UQAM. The centre’s objective is to develop mathematical decision-making concepts for major technological, commercial and economic systems and improve modeling based on statistics, simulation and data processing.

Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute

Mila rallies researchers specializing in the field of deep and reinforcement learning. Recognized globally for its significant contributions to the field of deep learning, Mila has distinguished itself in the areas of language modelling, machine translation, object recognition and generative models. Since 2017, Mila is the result of a partnership between the Université de Montréal and McGill University with École Polytechnique de Montréal and HEC Montréal.

Tech3Lab

The Tech3Lab is the most important UX lab in North America. The Tech3Lab is an applied laboratory in management science specializing in the analysis of interactions between technological interfaces in organisations and their employees or customers. Our mission is to Perform applied research in the field of user experience (UX) conducting scientific advances, to create new UX evaluation tools for industry and research and to train UX research professionals for industry as well as for scientific research.

CRM (Centre de recherches mathématiques)

With its world-renowned thematic programming introduced by the CRM in the 80’s, its scientific workshops and outreach activities, its 1,500 annual visiting scientists from around the world, and thirteen laboratories directly involving more than 200 researchers from twelve major universities in Quebec and Ontario, the Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) is a major hub for the mathematical sciences. The dual structure on which the CRM is built — top level international scientific programming running in parallel with thirteen high-performance research laboratories — is unique in Canada. It is also unique in the world.

The Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) was founded in 1968. Under the direction of Professor Luc Vinet as of July 20, 2013, the Centre’s mandate is to serve as a national centre for fundamental research in mathematics and their applications. The CRM’s scientific personnel includes more than one hundred members and postdoctoral fellows. Further, the Centre hosts from year to year a large number of guest researchers.
