Philippe Doyon-Poulin
Polytechnique Montréal
Assistant Professor
Specialist In Cognitive engineering of man-machine systems, Design and evaluation of user interfaces for complex systems

Biography

Philippe Doyon-Poulin worked in human factors engineering at Bombardier Aerospace from 2013 to 2019 where he was involved for the design and certification of human factors aspects on the CSeries (now A220) and Global 7500 flight decks. He completed more than 500 hours of usability testing in the flight simulator with pilots to evaluate the flight deck’s ease of use and human errors. He completed a PhD in industrial engineering at Polytechnique Montréal in 2014 on the effects of visual clutter of flight deck displays on pilot performance, workload and gaze pattern. Now, his work focuses on the cognitive engineering of man-machine systems, especially the design and evaluation of user interfaces for complex systems.
